Nancy Cowan : One last comment. My grandma Julia sewed special pockets in her coat to bring bags of jewelry home to go through. One day, she got off the bus and got hit by a car. When the ambulance people picked her up, they couldn’t believe how heavy this little lady was. Then they discovered her coat was filled with bags of jewels. We still seriously laugh at that image. My Grandma Julia - my inspiration for all of my life. ❤️

Nancy Cowan : Did I tell you my grandma worked the jewelry room at the Goodwill about 50+ years ago in Duluth MN? She would bring home loads of jewelry to go through and fix and we got to dig through the piles. She’d literally pour it onto the kitchen table. We were expected to straighten out the chains. Lol. Thanks for the lovely memory. I have one piece - an enameled duck pin - that I was able to keep. (She paid for it, of course.) Thrifting makes life make sense. You girls are a constant inspiration. ❤️
